Terms of Reference
To conduct a needs assessment of the oncology community to ensure the development of a relevant continuing education curriculum in oncology.
To develop prospectively, a rational and balanced curriculum of continuing education in oncology covering the spectrum of cancer care from prevention through early detection, treatment, rehabilitation and palliative care.
To participate in the planning and development of oncology rounds, highlighting recent developments in clinical, fundamental, translational and epidemiological research.
To develop academic criteria on the basis of which courses may qualify for support and sponsorship of oncology continuing education and to obtain approval of continuing education course credit.
To promote and coordinate research initiatives in continuing education, attract funding to support evaluation and innovations in continuing education.
Oncologists and radiation oncologists with demonstrated interest and expertise in oncology continuing education representing the entire spectrum of oncology will be appointed to the continuing education committee by the director of oncology continuing education for a renewable two year term. The committee will meet at least once each quarter.
